Attention Walmart Associates

The New Mexico Association of Food Banks has been selected as one of five finalists in the Walmart Foundation Associates Choice Program for this year. During the months of June, July and August, Walmart associates can go online to the Walmart Foundation website and vote for their favorite charity. The winning charity will receive a grant of $100,000 from the Walmart Foundation. That $100,000 would go a long way to help the member food banks of the NMAFB with their mission to provide access to healthy food for the 40,000 New Mexicans who seek emergency food assistance each week. The money would fund programs like the Fresh Produce Initiative, Food for Kids, Senior Helpings or a number of other healthy food programs around the state. If you know a Walmart associate, encourage them to cast a vote for the New Mexico Association of Food Banks. It’s a vote to feed hungry New Mexicans!

Who Do We Serve?
Each month in New Mexico, 89,000 people visit pantries, shelters, and soup kitchens in search of emergency food for their families. Some are turned away because there is not enough food for them, but, thanks to the state’s food banks, most receive help.
